I don’t know why I didn’t see this coming. Sadie is now in her first “heat”. Of course, next weekend is our anniversary and we had plans to go skiing in the Poconos. Fortunately we have light hardwood floors in our house, so it’s easy to spot and easy to clean. Unfortunately, my parents (who were going to watch Sadie for us) have rugs in every room of their house and are not ok with Sadie coming over.

It only snowed about two inches yesterday. Then came the ice. Around 10pm when the storm calmed, I went outside to shovel. As I mentioned in a previous post, we live on a dead-end block, with very little traffic. As I walked outside, I looked the dog and thought… hmm… I wonder if she’ll listen to me and stay on the lawn.
